London view

Covent Garden

Covent Garden is one of London’s retailing gems.  A myriad of streets accessible from the heart of London’s West End with several tube stations serving the location, all bringing UK and International visitors into the area.

Its retailing and restaurants offer an informal atmosphere for customers to explore the streets, where both independent and international flagship restaurants and retailers trade alongside each other.  The central market is a bustling retailing zone flanked by street artists creating a carnival atmosphere, much loved by the tourists. Long Acre offers international retail companies the opportunity to trade from large stores and stamp their own individual mark on the London retail scene.  Neal Street and Seven Dials offer an eclectic mix of quirky London fashion names in cobbled streets alongside Thomas Neal’s and Neal’s Yard.  King Street, anchored by Apple, boasts retailers such as Hackett and LK Bennett and rumoured to soon be home to a new Burberry store.

Thomas Davidson are currently providing advice to the Shaftesbury and Mercers Partnership on St.Martin’s Courtyard where new retail units have been let to Cos, Banana Republic, Jack Wills, Jaeger alongside new restaurants for Jamie’s Italian, Dishoom and Cantina Laredo. This striking new retail environment will quickly become established in the retail hierarchy will no doubt be the place to be seen.  Thomas Davidson are providing advice to a number of institutional landlords who have holdings on Long Acre which in our opinion is probably the most important retail street within Covent Garden.  The recent street works undertaken to widen the pavements and the general ambience have already translated into an influx of major retailers competing for units. Further developments are expected at the eastern end of Long Acre blending retail with residential accommodation.  Neal Street and Seven Dials retains its quirky independents much loved by Londoners.

Covent Garden is held in high regard as a unique retailing, office, residential and restaurant area often copied whilst still retaining a spirit and style unique in London.
