London View
Carnaby Street
Thomas Davidson have been closely involved with the largest of Shaftesbury PLC’s ‘villages’ from its purchase in 1994.
From the outset we have provided strategic advice for the direction of the retailing in all the streets that make up this ‘Village’ including Foubert’s Place, The Newburgh Quarter, Beak Street, Kingly Court, Broadwick Street etc. Together with our client we have, through careful targeting, sought individual retail styles for each location. Today the heart of Carnaby thrives whilst much of the UK suffers from recessionary forces. We are seeing rental values grow as turnover responds to the imaginative and positive management approach. We have let retail units to notable fashion retailers including G Star, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Replay, Irregular Choice, WeSc, Pretty Green amongst others. These lettings have validated the location as one of the principal fashion streets in London and remains at the cutting edge.
The future looks positive as the West End of London defies the general downturn with strong visitor numbers swelling the London shopping population. Retail demand for new space remains positive with strong interest being registered from retailers attracted by the current fashion and restaurant tenant mix which has ensured that the location retains a fresh and invigorating appeal. We put the continued success down to the positive marketing and targeting of interesting retail fashion groups from Europe and the rest of the world who are looking for locations that reflect their brand values. Carnaby scores at all levels.
Carnaby has firmly re-established itself as a major destination and a focal location for local office workers and residents alongside our home and international visitors.
